Boudoir Photography faqs
Is the studio private and secure?
Yes. Your session takes place in my private, secure boudoir studio reserved exclusively for you. Your comfort, safety, and privacy are always the top priority. The studio is kept at a comfortable temperature but I also have an electric fireplace so that you don't get cold, a private bathroom/changing room right across the hall from the studio, and complimentary robes to wear during your session.
Who will be present during the shoot?
If you choose to add professional hair and makeup, a female hair and makeup artist will be present at the beginning of your session. During the photoshoot itself, it will be just you and me (Amanda) in the studio.
Is the team all female?
Yes—always. This experience is intentionally designed and led by an all-female team (if you do decide to purchase prints, I even have an all female printing lab I can recommend!).
I’ve never done this—will you tell me how to pose? What if I don’t feel confident that day?
Absolutely. I guide you through every pose, movement, and transition throughout the session. Confidence is not a prerequisite—it’s something that builds naturally as the experience unfolds.
Do you help with facial expressions?
Yes. I provide full facial expression guidance and have undergone professional boudoir training specifically focused on posing, expression, and body awareness for this style of photography.
What should I wear? Do you have a client closet? Do you help choose outfits?
While I do not currently offer a client closet, we will discuss your creative vision during your virtual consultation. You’ll also receive a complimentary prep guide with outfit inspiration, styling tips, and trusted recommendations on where to shop for lingerie and wardrobe pieces for your session.
Can I do implied or nude images, or is it lingerie only?
I focus on lingerie and topless or implied nudity - I currently do not offer full nudity options. We will always discuss boundaries and comfort levels ahead of time, and you are in full control of what is (and isn’t) photographed.
Is hair and makeup included?
Hair and makeup are not included but can be added to your session for an additional cost. Pricing varies depending on artist availability, and I’m happy to coordinate everything for you and provide exact pricing in advance.
Will my images be shared online? Can I opt out of marketing use?
Your images are always private. While I’m honored when clients choose to allow their images to be shared, I will never post or use your boudoir photographs without your explicit consent.
How are my photos stored? Are galleries password-protected?
All images are delivered through a secure online platform. Galleries are private and password-protected to ensure your images remain safe and confidential.
How much retouching do you do? Will you keep me looking like me?
My retouching style is natural, refined, and true to you. Each final image is professionally retouched to enhance your natural beauty while preserving your unique features and skin texture. This includes gentle skin smoothing, color correction, and light refinements to temporary distractions—never altering your body shape or changing what makes you *you*.
The goal is for you to look like the most confident, rested, and radiant version of yourself—not someone else. If you have specific preferences (or would prefer no retouching at all), we’ll discuss them ahead of time so you feel fully comfortable and in control.
How many images will I receive?
You will receive 20 fully retouched, high-resolution images.
When will I get my photos?
During your session, I’ll show you images throughout the shoot. You’ll also take part in a same-day image reveal, where you’ll select your final 20 images before you leave. Your fully retouched images will be delivered within two weeks in a secure digital gallery.
Can I order albums or prints later?
Yes. While album curation and printing are not currently offered in-house, I’m happy to recommend trusted, female-led professional print labs where you can securely print your images.
Are digital files included?
Yes. Your experience includes 20 high-resolution digital images delivered in a private, password-protected online gallery.
What’s the total cost?
Investment details are shared after inquiry and during your consultation, ensuring full transparency and clarity before booking.
Are payment plans available?
Yes, payment plans are available. All payments must be completed prior to your session date.
Is a retainer required?
Yes. A 50% retainer is required to reserve your session date and time. The remaining balance is due prior to your session.
